The Study of ancient economies – from the Neolithic through the European Middle Ages – offers fascinating possibilities both to understand the economies of the ancient world and to think about the modern world in view of what we understand of Antiquity. In this lecture series, we are inviting historians, archaeologists and philologists as well as economists to present and discuss their interpretations of economic developments to aid us in reflecting about what happened in ancient times and how it might be relevant to understanding the contemporary world.
